That said, they are also the fastest cruisers AND pretty well armoured, so you are able to control the fight extremely well, get into all the right positions and then kite away when things turn against you. I do find that while the first volley is often phenomenal, they do struggle to do consistent damage to BBs once the superstructure is saturated. They have fantastic guns (The Kirov is a bit of an outlier, but it basically has tier 9 guns at tier 5), with great accuracy, IFHE potential, AP penetration and decent reload. I'm being pretty wow-ed by the Russian line right now (up to tier 7, and from what people have told me they only get better from here). They lose torpedoes after tier 5 as well, but gain radar at tier 8. Some great ships, some not so great ones in the line. They appear to be very fast with weak armor and excellent guns.Īmerican - Great AA, excellent AP but very high arcs on shells with a long flight time.

Generally a well balanced line of cruisers.įrench - No idea, never played them. The torpedoes tend to have good firing arcs as well. Play from range until about tier 8 when your armor improves and you can start closing range a bit to brawl. Germans - Good armor, good AP and anemic HE except for the Yorck which is the exact opposite. Very fragile, so it's mostly a case of getting into a good position, popping smoke, firing away and then running to your next spot for smoke, trying not to get hit the entire time. Includes smoke and single fire torpedoes. Typically play as HE slinging fire starters but their citadel is large and easy to hit.īritish - Good concealment, fast firing guns with special AP that pens at better angles than other ships. Japanese - Good concealment, excellent HE and great torpedoes. Excellent guns with excellent fire performance, but you need to sit back and hide your citadel. Russians - Glass cannons for the most part. You're going to get a wide variety of answers, it really comes down to personally preference.
